People shape places, and, in turn, places shape people.
How can we create cities that better contribute to human flourishing?
To address this consciously, and for our future actions to be purposeful, we need to amplify our understanding and widen our knowledge of how our environments affects us.
Conscious Cities London is bringing together multidisciplinary speakers from academia, practice, and public and private organisations for an online programme of talks, conversations and virtual visits across 3 afternoons to inspire, agitate, and connect.
SESSION 3: ECOSYSTEMS
Thursday 22nd October – afternoon
What are the systems and frameworks we need to better address pressing societal and planetary issues?
How can we create human-centric places that also support environmental priorities like decarbonisation, increasing biodiversity and promote circular economies?
Timings and speakers TBA
Over the 3 days, we will have participants from a wide range of fields, including science, policy, engineering, development, architecture and design. We will share lessons and provide predictions as to how the design and operation of our environments shape us and how we can shape them to improve our wellbeing.
Conscious Cities Festival 2020 is a global event happening in cities across the world throughout 18th to 24th October, focusing on human-centred and science-informed design to create healthier, equitable, innovative, and sustainable cities.
