Despite the complex problems many cities are facing, there is a greater opportunity than ever to make a positive impact in people’s lives through design. – From Defining Conscious Cities

Conscious Cities is a movement focusing on people-centric environments that are aware and responsive using Tech, AI, and Science Informed Design. The concept emerged out of ‘A Manifesto for Conscious Cities’ co-written by architect Itai Palti and neuroscientist Prof. Moshe Bar in 2015. Since then, a number of events and publications have contributed to the concept becoming an active field of research and practice.

The Centre for Conscious Design grew out of this movement and has taken on the role of supporting the interdisciplinary work needed to address the challenges facing our urban future.
