Community Organizer with RI Peoples History Museum
Born and bred in Providence, Rhode Island, Daria-Lyric Montaquila is a recent graduate of the University of Rhode Island’s BFA program. While studying theater at the university she fell in love with the Gender and Women studies program, where she learned how to put her passion for helping marginalized communities into practice. She spends her time volunteering with The Womxn Project and joining protests at the state house, implementing the demanding voice she cultivated on URI’s stage out onto the rotunda. Her latest introduction to social services has included a mutual aid effort in response to the Covid-19 crisis, where she acted as a community organizer to help raise and allocate donations to neighbors in need.
