We are considering a unique event for inclusion in the October Festival: a highly acclaimed play called ‘Footprints’, by Bangalore playwright Vijay Padaki. He has worn two caps all his life – one in Management and the other in the Theatre. His research and teaching in management has had an emphasis on large social development programmes, with three books coming out of it. One long lasting interest of Vijay has been at the interface of behavioural science and man-made environments.
Footprints, is required reading for graduate courses on Sustainability offered by several American Universities. Vijay has offered the play to us for performance at the Conscious Cities Festival 2021.
Footprints is about a group of intellectuals working on a top secret project to develop a suitable technology by which the first and last mistake of nature is to be eliminated – the human species. The group is convinced that the future of the rest of the planet, along with all the meticulously co-evolved life forms, is far more important than the survival of Man.
The play lends itself to a rehearsed reading. It is highly unlikely that we will be able to have a live performance by October. Vijay has also suggested that members of Conscious Cities themselves may participate in the rehearsed reading. He will be happy to give his time to guide the performers.
A rare booth to express, evoke, and provoke the future of humanity (and design) with Vijay’s astute aesthetic eye, voice, and action!
Register your interest to participate here and to understand this unique event in fine grain.
