Alba Méndez García is an architect, researcher, and founder of Qualia Estudio (Barcelona), a studio and consultancy specialised in Conscious Design and Neuroarchitecture, helping organisations maximise the social impact of their real estate investments through evidence-based strategies. She holds a degree in Architecture from ETSAB (Barcelona), a Master’s in Construction Technology focused on Rehabilitation and Historic Buildings (ETSAB), an MBA from ESADE, and a Master in Neuroscience Applied to Architectural Design (IUAV–ANFA). Her work integrates science, design, and the humanities to explore how the built environment actively shapes human health, behaviour, and organisational culture. She approaches space not as a neutral container, but as a system that influences perception, emotional regulation, habits, and social interaction—connecting design decisions to measurable outcomes and supporting impact measurement, value reporting, and financial integration.
She is the Director of the Postgraduate Diploma in Conscious Design and Neuroarchitecture at Escola Sert (COAC) and Coordinator of the Master’s in Interior Design at BAU, where she leads transdisciplinary programmes aimed at translating scientific knowledge into practical design tools. Alba is also a Board Member of Arquipensions S.L., and previously co-organised the first edition of the international symposium MIND–BODY–SPACE.
At Qualia Estudio, Alba advances the social value of architecture by integrating design excellence with rigorous research and knowledge transfer. She unites conscious design, neuroarchitecture, science, and technology to develop evidence-based strategies that enhance the built environment while enabling the objective measurement of social impact. Her work positions Qualia as a strategic partner to architects, developers, and investors—providing robust data and actionable insights into how spaces can become powerful levers for change, supporting healthier environments, stronger communities, and long-term value creation.
