The Centre for Conscious Design (CCD) is excited to announce a call for submissions for our biannual publication, the Conscious Cities Journal. This edition will focus on “Learning & Exploration” and the transformative role of conscious design in fostering intellectual engagement, creativity, and lifelong learning. 

The deadline for submissions is February 20, 2025.

What We’re Looking For:

We invite thought-provoking essays, case studies, opinions, and photo essays that explore how well-designed environments inspire curiosity, encourage exploration, and support intellectual and cultural growth. Submissions should align with the principles of Conscious Design, offering insightful analysis and innovative ideas that demonstrate how thoughtful design can shape spaces that promote learning and discovery.

Topics may include, but are not limited to:

• The impact of architectural design on educational outcomes and intellectual engagement.
• Case studies on innovative learning environments such as schools, libraries, or cultural institutions.
• Design strategies for creating inclusive, accessible educational spaces.
• Urban planning approaches that integrate educational opportunities into public spaces.
• Explorations of how design can cultivate curiosity, creativity, and cultural exploration.

Submission Guidelines:

• Length: 500-3500 words
• Format: Google Doc or Word document, including photo essays. 
  • If you have photos or images, please send them as a Dropbox/Google Drive link. You must have full image permissions. 
• Citations: AMA format (see also)
• Contact: Include a brief bio and contact information in a cover page, not in your submission.

All submissions must adhere to the provided guidelines to ensure a smooth review process. Submissions that do not meet these requirements will not be considered for publication until they comply.
