Dr. Jill Litt

Dr. Jill Litt is a Senior Researcher at the Barcelona Institute of Global Health (ISGlobal), a Professor of Environmental Studies and Public Health at the University of Colorado Boulder, and an Adjunct Professor at the Colorado School of Public Health. Dr. Litt received her PhD in environmental health and public policy from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health and her BA from the Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Litt is an environmental epidemiologist with expertise in social psychology, urban planning, and intervention science. Dr. Litt is a leading an H2020 global health initiative, called RECETAS, dedicated to addressing loneliness through nature-based social prescribing interventions in 6 cities in Latin America, Europe, and Australia. Dr. Litt is also a lead investigator on the RESONATE consortium dedicated to testing nature-based therapies to promote resilience and reduce disease risk. She also led a landmark randomized controlled trial of community gardening, funded by the American Cancer Society, which demonstrated that community gardening, a nature-based social intervention, reduces stress and anxiety and promotes health behavior change.
