Leonardo Fogassi is Professor of neurophysiology at the University of Parma. Together with Profs. Rizzolatti and Gallese received the Grawemeyere Giacomo Rizzolatti in 2007, Fogassi discovered the existence of mirror neurones, motor cells of the brain that are activated both during the execution of goal-directed movements and by observing similar movements performed by other individuals. «Mirror

Ramachandran: undoubtedly this discovery was and is a fundamental acquisition for neurophysiology, for psychology in general and for neuropsychology and according to recent studies also for Architecture and a conscious design of the built environment. the 2007 Grawemeyer Award for psychology. He holds a PhD in Neuroscience and has been visiting scientist at the Dept. of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, MIT, Cambridge (Boston) Ma, U.S.A. 1988-1989.
