Troy D. Glover is a professor in the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies at the University of Waterloo, where he also serves as Director of the Healthy Communities Research Network and as an affiliate with the Future Cities Institute. His research focuses on leisure within the public realm and how it contributes to the social infrastructure of urban community life by facilitating the strengthening of social ties, fostering conditions for social capital development, and building social connectedness. Troy is also the principal consultant at Healthy Placemaking Solutions, a firm that supports municipalities and not-for-profit organizations in their efforts to advance connection as a core service.
