Sarika founded Contemplative Designer and her own design practice Sarika Bajoria Unlimited with the singular vision to bring about a world where each and every built space is a mediator of human flourishing, not just well-being. Her credo is that such a world is only possible if designers and teams are truly flourishing in their daily design practices.
Synthesizing 21 years of practicing architecture, 15 years of teaching contemplative practice, and research in the science of human flourishing, neuroaesthetics and diverse contemplative practices, Sarika has developed evidence-based design tools that empower designers and leaders to authentically transform our built environment from the “inside-out”. She presents her framework and research through experiential keynotes and workshops at design firms, academic institutions, and conferences. As Adjunct Professor at Parsons School of Design – The New School she brings her professional experience and unique contemplative design approach to the classroom.
Sarika has been recognized with several awards including “Building Design+Construction 40 under 40” and “Engineering News Record New York Top 20 under 40”. She obtained her Masters in Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania and Bachelor of Arts in Physics, Math and Art from Luther College, Iowa.
